Het betreft het door Metabolon laten uitvoeren van hoogwaardige, niet-gerichte massaspectrometrie-gebaseerde metabolomics-analyses van plasmonsters uit de bevolkingsgebaseerde Lifelines-cohort met als doel het identificeren van metabole verstoringen bij Myalgische Encefalomyelitis/Chronisch Vermoeidheidssyndroom (ME/CVS) die kunnen worden benut voor mechanistische, diagnostische en therapeutische inzichten. Na uitgebreid marktonderzoek is gebleken dat Metabolon als enige aan specifieke eisen voor de uitvoering kan voldoen, namelijk: 1. Analyse: Metabolon analyseert elk monster vier keer met verschillende UHPLC-instellingen, wat ongerichte metabolomics van verschillende moleculen mogelijk maakt. Het gebruik van één methode om de verschillende chemische eigenschappen te detecteren is niet wensbaar, gezien bijvoorbeeld verschillen in polariteit van verschillende moleculen. De uitgebreide technische vereisten, waaronder detectiebereik en precisie van kwantificering, monstervolumes, reproduceerbaarheid, het aantal geannoteerde metabolieten, relevante competentie van laboratoriumpersoneel en hoofdwetenschapper, QA-functionaris en het kwaliteitsborgingsprogramma, zijn opgesteld op basis v…
