Description
St. Vincent’s University Hospital (SVUH) propose to enter into a contract for the supply of the Cepheid GeneXpert system from Cruinn Diagnostics for provision of point of care testing for respiratory infections. SVUH intend to invoke Article 32 for derogation from tendering for the purchase of the point of care Patient Testing Diagnostic System including supply, installation, maintenance and ongoing training. • Each test processed will produce PCR results for at least the following 4 respiratory infections: SARS CoV2, Flu A, Flu B, and RSV, tested simultaneously for a single patient swab. • Refrigeration of reagents is not required as GeneXpert cartridges must be stored between 2° and 28°C; • Results are available in less than 1 hour; • Results produced contain a CT value; • The GeneXpert system will process at least 4 samples at any one time; • Integrated quality control.
