Upphandlingen avser totalansvar för verksamheten inom ambulanssjukvården. Ansvaret innefattar samtliga resurser såsom personal med rätt kompetens, fordon, utrustning, lokaler m m liksom det medicinska ansvaret som vårdgivare enligt HSL. Anvisad läkare hos Region Gotland ansvarar för att det medicinska innehållet i ambulansverksamheten ansluter till aktuella vårdkedjor på sjukhus och vårdinrättningar inom regionen.
