Description
The Transatlantic Sustainable Transition Initiative (TSTI) aims to facilitate activities that will drive progress on priority areas of the European Green Deal across the US. While keeping working with federal interlocutors, the project shall engage with subnational (state, regional, and local level) actors – who are increasingly taking action, often producing innovative and effective solutions – and pair them with counterparts in the EU and its Member States. The project will focus on three priority areas: 1) sustainable agriculture and the transition toward a sustainable food chain, 2) energy-efficiency and conservation in buildings, and 3) circular economy. Proposed project activities include, but are not limited to, a) programme for emerging leaders in agriculture/young farmers in the US and EU, to enhance their understanding of sustainable agricultural policies and green deal priorities; b) initiative to foster state and local energy-efficient codes and policies for buildings, encouraging consumer energy savings, local green economy development, and European goods/services opportunities; c) multi-stakeholder dialogues to advance policy shifts and build support for a circular…
