Description

HSE Procurement intends to purchase approximately 12 AI systems for Endoscopy nationally from Medtronic Ireland Ltd. For clinical reasons Endoscopy require CADe (which is real time detection of all shape, size, location and histology of the lesion and CADx (which is the characterization of those polyps into two groups , ADENOMA and NON-ADENOMA. (Actual Colour on screen). HSE Procurement is satisfied that Medtronic is capable of fulfilling these requirements and that the Medtronic GI Genius AI system is compatible with all Fuji, Olympus (older and newest systems) and Pentax stack systems. Consequently, in accordance with Article 32(2)(b)(ii) of Directive 2014/24/EU, competition is absent for technical reasons and the award of this contract to Medtronic Ireland Ltd without a competitive process is permitted by the procurement regulations. HSE Procurement undertake that no contract shall be awarded to Medtronic Ireland Ltd for the supply of these items until a period of fourteen days has elapsed, commencing on the day after the date of publication of this notice at European level.
