Description
The Contracting Authority (“CA”) intends to issue a tender for works to be carried out: (i) in Ragusa for the installation and commissioning of new 220kV AIS, connection of HV cables to the new hybrid switchgear and shunt reactors, new control cables and their connection, and re-arrangement of the current HV layout to connect the new interconnector cable between Malta and Sicily. Works include the construction of foundations for HV equipment, firewalls and other ancillary civil works. The Contractor shall also provide, install and commission new panels for control and protection of the interconnector and new shunt reactor and update the existing control and telecom systems to integrate the new HV equipment. A new fire suppression system shall be constructed in line with the Italian legislation. (ii) In Malta for the connection of HV cables between existing GIS and the new transformer and shunt reactor, new control cables and their connection, and commissioning of existing control and protection panels, update the existing control and telecom systems to integrate the new interconnector, and overall commissioning of the new interconnector.
