In summary, the Services comprise: the provision of External Training Venues to accommodate training for the Continuous Professional Development of Garda Members/Garda Staff in the Midlands region. Having a suitable training venue in close proximity to Portlaoise is essential for operational efficiency, accessibility and service delivery. Given the fact that Portlaoise is a centralized location it is very amenable to a large cohort of members/staff travelling from various counties and is easily accessible by road or by rail.
