Description
The objective of this contract is to ensure input from and the participation of environmental NGOS, consumer NGOs and organizations representing SMEs into relevant existing & any future expert groups and any other aspects related to the Environmental Footprint (EF) methods (see below). The Environmental Footprint (EF ) Steering Committee and the Technical Advisory Board Expert Groups. The first group includes representatives of the European Commission, Member States, main stakeholder groups (environmental NGOs, consumers and SMEs) and economic sectors. The second group includes environmental footprint and life cycle assessment experts. In these expert groups other EF related aspects such as methodological choices of the EF methods or specific modelling requirements of the datasets are discussed. For supporting the potential implementation of the Green Claims Directive, the Commission may create a new expert group. The representation of the SMEs and environmental and consumer NGOs is crucial to ensure that its implementation is balanced and inclusive.
