Description

Tenders are sought for the supply and delivery of a CONTINUOUS SEGMENTED FLOW ANALYSER - The scope of this tender is to purchase a CONTINUOUS SEGMENTED FLOW ANALYSER. The instrument will be used for the determination of regulated dissolved inorganic nitrogen pollutants in aqueous matrices including nitrate (NO3-N), nitrite (NO2-N) and ammoniacal nitrogen (NH3-N) over a broad range of concentrations found in natural waters and wastewaters. The system will be used for high sample throughput analysis of groundwater, surface water, soil pore water, streambed pore water and agricultural wastewater to better understand nitrogen cycling in freshwater aquatic systems. A better understanding of exchanges and fluxes of nitrogen species along sub-surface pathways and between groundwater and surface water in river catchments and the relative importance of point and diffuse pollution sources over a range of spatial and temporal scales is anticipated. The system will also be used to evaluate the efficacy of nature-based solutions designed to treat agricultural and farmyard runoff as well as laboratory experiments investigating microbially mediated denitrification, DNRA and ammonium oxidation pro…
