Description
The Senior Specialist will provide consulting services to support the delivery of GRID-Arendal’s ongoing work programme related to climate change adaptation & mitigation, ecosystem management and biodiversity. They will manage and deliver on a range of ecosystem management projects across our four programmatic areas; Polar & Climate, Transboundary Governance & Environmental Crime, Marine Environment, and Waste & Marine Litter. The Senior Specialist will contribute significant expertise in a range of areas, particularly in the field of translating science to policy relevant products. Specific tasks will be finalised through mutual agreement throughout the year*, but the Senior Specialist is expected to support the delivery of projects and new project ideas through contribution of expert knowledge. In particular, the Senior Specialist will contribute their expertise to the delivery of projects focussing on climate change, its consequences and solutions for adaptation and mitigation, globally, and region-specific in mountain and polar areas, Arctic matters as a whole, addressing pollution matters and building knowledge and capacity for marine governance.
