Description
Task 1 The Consultant will conduct primary and secondary research on advanced solid waste management topics and their relevant issues and develop reports and/or content arising from project needs such as waste fires, waste trade, climate change, the informal recycling sector and it’s just transition (reference to project: 205338 Waste Action Plan and project: UNEP Policy Brief). The Consultant will address the task using the best scientific, technical, and socio-economic information available. Task 2 The Consultant will coordinate the development of awareness-raising materials for relevant stakeholders (e.g., government officials, civil society, multilateral environmental agreements) and contribute with expert knowledge on solid waste management relevant topics such as Extended Producer Responsibility in developing countries, Occupations Health and Safety of Informal Waste Worker, gender and waste management, operational and financial aspects of waste management units and others (reference to project: 205338 Waste Action Plan, project: 205264 ASAP, project: 203199 NORAD HMF Ripl, project 205340: UNEP PCA Plastics Treaty and Land-based Pollution).
