Description
This auction procedure is part of the H2Global mechanism, an instrument for competition-based support of the market ramp-up of renewable hydrogen. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) and the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth of the Netherlands (KGG) provide equal shares of funding for the global Lot of the second H2Global Auction Round. Hintco NG GmbH (Hintco) will therefore acquire renewable hydrogen on a long-term basis (up to 10 years) by conducting an auction procedure. A contract (Hydrogen Purchase Agreement - HPA) will be awarded for this purpose. Hintco will conclude the HPA in its own name and for its own account. Hintco requires that the product is produced using renewable energy and in compliance with sustainability requirements (RFNBOs - EU-Directive 2023/2413; EU-Delegated Regulation 2023/1184; EU-Delegated Regulation 2023/1185). Funding of 63,1 million per year is already available for the years 2028 to 2036, with additional funds still subject to approval by the German federal parliament in 2025’s federal budget.
