Description
De opdracht betreft het gebouw “Chevron” (ook bekend als gebouw “Texaco”), gelegen Campus Ardoyen te Zwijnaarde. Het dossier omvat de bouwkundige en technische renovatie van het Chevrongebouw en de bouw van een grote loods op het achterliggend stuk grond, na afbraak van de bestaande installaties. Doelstelling is om verschillende vakgroepen van de Faculteit Ingenieurswetenschappen en Architectuur (FEA) over te brengen naar het Chevrongebouw en de loods. De opdracht betreft het globale dossier en is niet ingedeeld in percelen. In het Chevrongebouw komen kantoren, chemische laboratoria, motorentestcellen, practicumruimtes, onderzoeksruimtes, werkplaatsen en opslagruimtes. Het bestaande gebouw heeft een totale bruto oppervlakte van 8.760 m². De netto oppervlakte van 4.145 m² is proportioneel klein, wegens veel gangen en grote technische ruimtes. De loods wordt onderverdeeld in een grote testhal met een vrije binnenhoogte van +/- 6,5m (onder rolbrug), een kleinere opstellingsruimte waar demo-opstellingen staan voor studenten en een practicumruimte, verschillende werkplaatsen, een oven- en chemielokaal, een paar ondersteunende ruimtes en een technische ruimte.
