Description

Refurbishment works to Level 2 (approx 6,000 sq m) and part of Level 1 (approx 1,700 sq m) together with fire safety upgrades to all floors. The works to Level 2 will include reconfiguration and fit out works, relocation of book stacks, improved quantity and quality of student modality spaces, inclusion of neuro-diversity spaces with associated joinery, and refurbishment of toilets spaces. On Level 1 the heritage co location will involve the relocation of the National Folklore Collection alongside UCD Library Special Collections and UCD archives, including the provision of heritage staff offices, workspace, and public facing library user engagement area. The fire upgrade works are to increase occupancy to 3,000 and improve compartmentation and vertical risers.
