Description

In June 2023 the Norwegian Parliament passed a new education law and amendments to the Private School Act. The regulations on the New Education Act and new regulations on the Private School Act were sent at a hearing on November 17, 2023, with a hearing deadline of 18 February 2024. The new laws with regulations shall, according to the plan, be valid from 1 August 2024.The Directorate of Education has been given the assignment (no. 2021-003) from the Ministry of Education and Research to plan and implement measures to support municipalities, counties and schools in efforts to use, interpret and understand the new law and regulations of the law. The evaluation has a total cost limit of up to NOK 7 million. NOK 5 million is included in the main evaluation. The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training reserves the right to take out an option for up to NOK 2 million. The main assignment will be from signing the contract in 2024 to 31.12.2027. In addition the Directorate of Education and Training can extend the evaluation for a further two years, if the option is taken up.
