Description
The four Dublin Local Authorities acting collectively and hereinafter referred to as the Dublin Regional Procurement Group, are undertaking this market soundings exercise as a parallel initiative. The four authorities include: • Dublin City Council • Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council • Fingal County Council • South Dublin County Council The Dublin Regional Procurement Group (“DRPG”)recognise the important role they can play in creating new opportunities for disadvantaged communities and improving their living conditions. The DPRG are thus committed to using public procurement to achieve positive social outcomes and build social inclusion. While it is not possible to discriminate in favour of local businesses in public procurement procedures, it is possible to encourage social enterprises, sheltered employment programmes and similar types of organisations to play a role in delivering contracts.
