Description
LHP Skillnet is seeking to partner a number of 3rd level Higher Education Institutes to deliver a Postgraduate Diploma in Gerontology Nursing specifically for learners from the private nursing home sector in Ireland. This initiative, fully funded by the Department of Health, aims to support private nursing homes to build nurse expertise in the field of gerontology. This initiative plans to provide 1 place on the Diploma course for every private nursing home in the country (ca.410). Funding was allocated to support 205 nursing homes in 2024. We are now seeking to partner with a number of HEI'S to support the second 205 private nursing homes in 2025. It is envisaged that the programmes will commence no later than September 2025. Established in January 2008, Leading Healthcare Providers (LHP) Skillnet is a not-for-profit Learning Network co-funded by Skillnet Ireland and our member companies. Skillnet Ireland is funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
