Description

Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) wishes to engage an architect-led multi-disciplinary team of consultants to work with our team in the Rural Development Department on the following tasks: preparation of an Integrated Urban Strategy for Newcastle West focused on the town centre and involving a citizen engagement process and stakeholder consultation; identify / work up in outline a number of priority projects – a pipeline – to support the physical renewal of the town centre within the Integrated Urban Strategy, and from those projects, recommend one priority project involving adaptive re-use of a heritage building in the town centre that is vacant /derelict / or under-utilised. Newcastle West town centre includes an Architectural Conservation Area with a significant number of buildings on the Register of Protected Structures and listed on the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (NIAH). Detailed development (including technical design, planning, costing and financial appraisal) of the recommended project for adaptive re-use of a heritage building will be tendered separately as a follow-up contract and is not part of this Call for Tender.
