Heinolan kaupunki rakennuttaa uuden puurakenteisen koulurakennuksen Kirkkiksen koulun Heinolan kirkonkylään. Rakennukseen tulee alakoulu, esiopetus sekä kuumennuskeittiö. Rakennus sijaitsee osoitteessa Koulukuja 1, 18300 Heinola kk. Koulun tiloihin hankitaan sisustus- ja irtokalusteita muunneltavan ja joustavan oppimisympäristön toteuttamiseksi.
