Hankinnan kohteena on IL:lle tilattavien elektronisten ja painettujen kausijulkaisujen välityspalvelu. Kausijulkaisujen välityspalvelu on palvelu, jonka tarkoituksena on välittää erilaisia kausijulkaisuja, kuten tieteellisiä lehtiä, ammatti-, aikakaus- ja sanomalehtiä sekä pienlevikkisiä ja ei-kaupallisia kausijulkaisuja. Palveluun sisältyvät vähintään seuraavat maksuttomat palvelut: tilausjärjestelmä, sen peruskäyttö ja tukipalvelut sekä asiakaspalvelu.
