Description
Established in 1872, the Hanseatic Museum has a long and proud museum and preservation tradition. Typically the museum is an 'art subject museum' with collected objects from Bryggen and elsewhere in Bergen. In connection with the extensive restoration of Finnegården, new exhibitions shall be established that safeguard the requirements and expectations of a modern, engaging and inspiring museum about the Hanseatic history that in Bergen lasted 500 years. In order to understand the Hanseatic period, it is important to see it in an international and national context. Relevant exhibitions shall be established based on new knowledge. The project has set aside fundings for examining the new perspective and topics that can also be linked to today's society.
