Description

The Health Research Board (hereinafter referred to as the “HRB”) is a statutory agency under the aegis of the Department of Health. The HRB’s mission is to support research that improves people's health, promotes evidence-informed care, and creates solutions to societal challenges. Our vison is ‘better health through excellent research, data and evidence.’ An overview of the HRB’s objectives and activities may be found in The HRB Strategy 2021-2025, (https://www.hrb.ie/strategy-2025/). The HRB, as Ireland’s main funder for health research, has been using an electronic grant management system since 2002, with the current system (Grant Tracker from Symplectic) in place since 2013. The Grant Tracker system is being discontinued by the provider, with a sunset date of 31 December 2026, without further access to data or functionality beyond that date. To replace Grant Tracker, the HRB are carrying out a two-phase project. Phase 1 is the procurement of a GMS system which is being carried out in a separate competition.
