Description
In het centrum van Nijlen staat de historische pastorie Sint-Willibrordus, beschermd als monument sinds 13 april 1981. De omgeving werd op dezelfde datum geklasseerd als dorpsgezicht. In 1821 werd de gemeente Nijlen eigenaar van de pastorie. Het lokaal bestuur wil het leegstaande gebouw, dat grondig gerestaureerd moet worden, nieuw leven inblazen. Ook de omgeving willen ze opwaarderen en een nieuwe (publieke) invulling geven. Het lokaal bestuur sloot daarvoor een beheersovereenkomst af met Kempens Landschap. In opdracht van de gemeente zal Stichting Kempens Landschap een restauratiedossier laten opmaken en de coördinatie van de werken op zich nemen. Dit bestek heeft de aanstelling van een architectenteam tot doel. Ook het uitvoeren van voorstudies (herbestemming, materiaaltechnisch, asbest, stabiliteit, etc.), het aanvragen van premies, en de veiligheidscoördinatie is deel van de opdracht.
