Umeå Kommun bjuder in intresserade leverantörer att lämna anbud avseende utförande av hemtjänst (service- och omvårdnadsinsatser) enligt Lagen om offentlig upphandling, LOU. Kommunen avser teckna avtal med 3 utförare fördelade på 3 geografiska områden. Anbuden kommer öppnas första vardagen efter sista anbudsdag 2026-06-04. Därefter sker utvärdering enligt underlaget och beslut förväntas fattas i juni 2026. Umeå Kommun är Norrlands största kommun och är inne i ett expansivt skede. Kommunen har ca 13 000 anställda och ca 134 000 invånare. Befolkningsprognosen i Umeå visar en större ökning inom åldersgruppen 80+ år, under kommande år jämfört med tidigare år. Ökningen började år 2023 och från att tidigare år ökat i snitt 3 % från år till år, bedöms åldersgruppen öka med 5–6% mellan 2024–2029. Från år 2030 väntas sedan utvecklingstakten minska för gruppen och dämpas till ca 1,5–2% från år till år fram till 2036. Det är i denna åldersgrupp som behovet av stöd och omsorg troligast är som störst. År 2026 ska det enligt prognosen bo 7 510 personer över 80 år i Umeå Kommun och 17 137 personer mellan 65–79 år.
