Description

In order to prevent the spreading of ailment sickness (Chronic Wasting Desease, CWD), a regulation in 2017 stated that all salt places in the Nordfjella area should be shut off for deer, reindeer and elk. The closure occurred when the grinds were assembled, which were fastened together around the salt stones. A total of around 700 salt places are closed. The grinding installations require annual inspections and maintenance. The vast majority of the grinding installations are far from the road and they are spread out over very large geographical areas. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority therefore needs a framework agreement for helicopter transport of personnel and material.
