Description
The purpose of this contract is mainly aimed at covering maintenance, improvement and implementation support of existing tools and techniques used by Nuclear Inspectors of the European Commission. DG ENER.E is responsible for the implementation of EURATOM safeguards as per Chapter VII of the EURATOM Treaty. The Commission’s duties in regard of this mission involve the physical verification of nuclear material by EURATOM inspectors (DG ENER E staff). To perform their tasks, the inspectors are dependent on nuclear measurement systems, many of which are permanently installed in nuclear installations across the EU for automatic measurements and analysis of generated data. Such OT (Operational Technology) applications enable EURATOM Safeguards inspectors to acquire the results of their independent physical verification activities and to verify them against the nuclear operators' declarations. The measurement systems need to be operational at all times. OT networks (such as process monitoring, data acquisition systems, CCTV systems) are a collection of devices designed to work together as an integrated and homogenous system.
