Description
In the coming years, the primary focus of this framework will be to facilitate the de-installation of NMI collections within Lots 1-5; and to help prepare them for transfer, quarantine and offsite storage (Decant phase). Following this the focus will be to stabilise, conserve and prepare collections for display (Conservation Phase) and finally to assist with the reinstallation of the collections in the newly refurbished NH museum (Reinstall Phase). The initial contracts awarded will be to assist with preparation for the planned refurbishment and conservation works at NMI – National History Merrion Street, relating specifically to: • specialist conservation work required to de-install, clean, stabilise and otherwise prepare natural history objects for safe transport by the NMI project team and object handlers and transport providers appointed by the NMI under a separate procurement competition.
