Halmstads kommun avser bygga en grundskola F-9 på fastigheten Valnöten 1. Total bearbetad tomtyta i denna entreprenad är ca 33 300 kvm. Skolan ska innehålla 900 elevplatser för grundskola samt 60 elevplatser för anpassad grundskola. Vallåsskolan innehåller idrottsfunktion i form av 2 idrottshallar med läktarfunktioner samt ett mindre rörelserum för anpassad grundskola. Skolan innehåller tillagningskök med kapacitet för 1 700 portioner.
