La Commissione europea chiederà ai servizi di agenti interinali di coprire le assenze temporanee del personale statutario o, in via eccezionale, a sostegno dei picchi di carico di lavoro. In particolare, tali servizi saranno invitati a far fronte alle assenze del personale per malattia, maternità e congedo parentale, ai congedi annuali o speciali, alla riduzione dell'orario di lavoro, ecc. . Richieste aggiuntive potranno pervenire anche dalle Rappresentanze di Roma e Milano della Commissione Europea.
