Description
The MINERVA-project at SCK CEN is charged with the design, procurement and commissioning of a high power super conducting particle accelerator on the Mol site of SCK CEN. While SCK CEN has no previous experience with such a technology, this project must be completed in record time and achieve a reliability that is in order of magnitude above the best achieved in other facilities world-wide. There are only a handful of comparable accelerators in construction/operation in the world with most of them embedded in big facilities with decades of relevant experience. Given that there is limited experience on site and no suitable persons for some specific tasks could be attracted to be hired with workplace in Mol within the last three years, MDB (Minerva - Design & Build) needs to rely on consultants with relevant skills and experience to achieve its mandated goal.
