Description
The Department currently uses Cisco Secure Firewall, Cisco ISE, Cisco Secure Client (Premier) with network access and posture modules and associated Cisco Umbrella entitlements primarily for secure remote access and posture for over 3,000 users. Cisco ISE is also used to provide TACACS+ authentication services and identity services for firewall transversal, while the Department uses Cisco ThousandEyes for network (LAN, WAN), internet services, and application monitoring. Our current web proxy platform is an on-premises solution, which requires that all VPN based internet traffic be hair-pinned through the VPN tunnel to get the benefit of the Cisco Umbrella protections derived from our connection through Government Networks (GN). This minimises the benefits we should derive from our Secure Client Premier licensing.
