Description
South Dublin County Council currently has approx. 166 playing pitches for various sporting clubs such as Gaelic Football, Camogie, Hurling, Soccer, Rugby, Cricket, Rounders, Softball and Athletics etc serving over 1000 teams (pitch locations and numbers in Appendix C). Some 19,000 use these pitches on a weekly basis. The demand and expectation for good quality grass pitches are always increasing. The annual maintenance of pitches is not only important in improving the quality and quantity of sport played in an open space but it also contributes to a reduction in injuries to players. No pitch operations should be undertaken during or after poor weather/ground conditions. South Dublin County Council proposes to engage in a competitive process for the establishment of a Multi-Party Framework Agreement and is seeking to engage firms experienced in pitch maintenance and redevelopment works in various open spaces within the South Dublin County Council area.
