Cieľom zriadenia DNS je vytvorenie platformy pre štátnu a verejnú správu, ktorá umožní verejným obstarávateľom alebo obstarávateľom flexibilné zadávanie zákaziek v súlade so zákonom o verejnom obstarávaní podľa ich reálnych potrieb, t.j. v čase a rozsahu, ktorý im je známy a zároveň z úrovne IKT gestora štátu centrálne umožní riadiť nákup IT rolí.
