Description
The CAWT Partnership has been successful in securing PEACEPLUS (PP) funding for the CAWT PP Healthier Futures project. The overall objective of the project is to develop and implement a more synergised Cross Border and Cross Community model of support for all age ranges. The latest data shows that we are seeing increasing levels of overweight/obesity in our population and that levels are consistently higher in those who are most deprived. Without action to reverse obesity related behaviours, our population will be beset with significant ill-health related to overweight/obesity. The project will focus on delivery of programmes for adults in NI and for children in IRL. The project aims to complement and build on existing activities and services, to ensure equality of access to weight management interventions and early intervention prevention programmes to help prevent obesity for our shared population across all age ranges. The CAWT PEACEPLUS (PP) Healthier Futures project will be implemented along the border counties between IRL and NI with a number of delivery lots within each jurisdiction.
