Description
Following on from the Request for Information (RFI) process conducted in September 2023, An Garda Síochána are planning to advertise a request for tender in the first quarter of 2024 inviting responses to take part in a Body Worn Cameras (BWC) Proof of Concept (POC). The POC is planned to take place in three (3) locations with a maximum of three (3) companies selected to take part. It is envisaged that contracts will be awarded on a cascading basis with the supplier ranked number one (1) undertaking the first POC location which is likely to be in the Dublin region, with the other two locations to follow at later dates with the suppliers ranked number two (2) and number three (3). This POC will ultimately be replaced by a further and separate procurement process which is designed to provide BWC across the organisation to all Garda members and which will be informed by the learnings which have been achieved from the POC. The POC will be undertaken for a period of approximately 12 months or until such time as the solution arising from the subsequent replacement procurement process is ready to be implemented.
