Το συμβατικό αντικείμενο της εργολαβίας αφορά στην κατασκευή νέου αγωγού μεταφοράς πόσιμου νερού από τις πηγές Αγίας Μαρίνας έως το φρεάτιο διανομής Καρυούπολης επί της επαρχιακής οδού Γυθείου - Αρεόπολης με σκοπό την αντικατάσταση του υφιστάμενου αγωγού μεταφοράς για την εξυπηρέτηση οικισμών των Δημοτικών Ενοτήτων Οιτύλου Ανατολικής Μάνης, Γυθείου και Σμύνους. Το υδραγωγείο θα τροφοδοτηθεί (όπως και το υφιστάμενο) από τις Πηγές της Αγ. Μαρίνας, σε υψόμετρο περίπου +407 πλησίον της Άρνας. Το έργο θα κατασκευαστεί σύμφωνα με την εγκεκριμένη Οριστική μελέτη «ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΥΔΡΕΥΣΗΣ ΜΑΝΗΣ – ΟΡΙΣΤΙΚΗ ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΑΓΩΓΟΥ ΜΕΤΑΦΟΡΑΣ ΑΠΟ ΠΗΓΕΣ ΑΓ. ΜΑΡΙΝΑΣ ΕΩΣ ΦΡΕΑΤΙΟ ΔΙΑΝΟΜΗΣ ΚΑΡΥΟΥΠΟΛΗΣ». Ο προς κατασκευήν αγωγός ύδρευσης έχει σκοπό να μεταφέρει νερό με βαρύτητα από τις πηγές της Αγ. Μαρίνας σε περιοχές του Δήμου Ανατολικής Μάνης, αντικαθιστώντας τον υφιστάμενο αγωγό που σήμερα παρουσιάζει αρκετά προβλήματα. Το μήκος του νέου αγωγού είναι 27,9 km .
