Description
This is a call to competition by IE for the procurement of Specialist Rolling Stock Repairs of Gear Boxes and Suspension Tubes. Iarnród Éireann have a requirement for the services of a specialist engineering company to provide specialist machine support services to assist in the Heavy Maintenance processes undertaken in Inchicore Works, Dublin. The contract will cover specialist engineering services on components deemed to be of a safety critical nature by the Safety Management System within the Chief Mechanical Engineering Department. Predominantly, the contract will cover (but not limited to) repairs to Axle Boxes, Suspension Tubes and Final Drive Gear Boxes all of which are deemed to be installed in safety critical applications on a variety of different IÉ fleets. Repairs undertaken may require Electroplating, Bushing, Precision Machine Boring, Metal Spraying, MPI, Shot-Peening, Welding, Reverse Engineering, Casting and Painting and all repairs must be undertaken in a controlled environment and to the highest of engineering standards.
