Description
Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova project Context The Republic of Moldova is facing challenges in relation to economic growth and equal access to basic services, education and employment for all genders and population groups. Furthermore, there are widening regional disparities and a pronounced development gap between urban and rural communities. At the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic hit social life and the Moldovan economy very severely. The country was faced with additional enormous challenges due to the arrival of a large number of refugees from Ukraine. Since February 2022 over 100 thousand people seeked refuge in Moldova as a consequence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.In support of the Government"s commitments to improved policy and local public services and economic growth, GIZ in Moldova, together with its partners, is implementing the project Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova. The project is Commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with a value of up to EUR 27 220 000 (out of which EUR 6,4 mln funding from the European Union and EUR 4,6 mln from Swiss Government) and has a duration from January…
