Description
In order to maintain the elective operation and stand-by in the region, OUS has procured 10 insufflators for Oslo University Hospital HF (hereafter called OUS) from Karl Storz Endoscopy Norge AS. The procurement is being made with reference to the Public Procurement Regulations, c.f. § 5-2 (1) letter c "Part II does not apply to contracts that the contracting authority, due to unforeseen circumstances, cannot postpone signing in the period it will take to hold an open or limited tender competition". See the field security report of 22.11.23 for an insufflator, which has mainly been used during laparoscopic procedures, at OUS. The FDA describes this field security notice as a Class 1 Recall and writes "The FDA has identified this as a Class I recall, the most serious type of recall. Use of these devices may cause serious injuries or death."
