Description

Oslo University Hospital, Radiumhospitalet, department of pathology, intends to procure a new ultrasonicator. The instrument will be used for DNA fragmentation prior to sequencing analysis. The department have certain mandatory requirements for the system: The instrument must be able to fragment the DNA down to a size of 100 bp in a closed, contact-free and isothermal environment to prevent contamination and avoid temperature increase in the sample. This is achieved through the use of AFA (Adaptive Focused Acoustics) technology, an advanced ultrasound technology developed and patented by Covaris. No other supplier offers equivalent technology or functionality.  The instrument must be compatible with applications such as TruSight Oncology 500 High Throughput.    For the above reasons, Covaris R230 from Covaris Ltd is the only instrument that can deliver the required performance. The conditions in FOA § 13-4 (2) are considered fulfilled. Any objections must be submitted to the project manager within 10 days after the publication of this notice.
