Beskrivelse
BACKGROUND: The Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD) is established as an independent and self-governing public institution. The ongoing grant to DIPD: “Support to Strong and Well-Functioning Multi-Party Democracies” (2021-2025), is based on annual commitments at the average level of DKK 30 million. A successor to the ongoing project is being prepared: “Support to Strong and Well-Functioning Multi-Party Democracies (2026-2029)” with an overall focus to strengthen the Danish democracy assistance, in particular by support for the development of political parties and multi-party systems in developing countries. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the Appraisal is to assess the relevance and effectiveness of the Danish support to the “Support to Strong and Well-Functioning Multi-Party Democracies (2026-2029)” based on Denmark’s strategies and guidelines. The appraisal team will provide recommendations to the HUMCIV Dept. on needed adjustments to the project document to be considered and adjusted prior to the presentation of the project to the Development Council (UPR).
