Beschreibung
A superconducting dipole magnet is to be procured for the MADMAX project for the search for dark matter. The sample volume, magnetized to an average of more than 4 T over a length of 50 cm, must be able to accommodate a cylinder with a diameter of approximately 60 cm and must be directly accessible from both ends. The homogeneity of the magnetic field (B-field) within the sample volume should be better than 10%. The magnet must not exceed a length and height of 4 meters each, and a weight of 80 tons. It is scheduled to be installed at DESY Hamburg around 2030. Access to helium as a cooling medium in the hall will be provided by the client. The entire contract is divided into three phases and includes: Phase 1: Preparation of a design study and a budget offer for the construction of the magnet Phase 2: Preparation of a technical design report and manufacturing drawings, and submission of a binding offer for the construction of the magnet Phase 3: Production and delivery of the magnet, as well as support during commissioning Qualified companies are invited to express their interest in the project.
