Beschrijving
This contract concerns the purchase of a nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) instrument allowing zeta potential measurement for the analysis of extracellular vesicles (EVs) and other nanoparticles. EVs, a heterogenous group of nanometer-sized structures released by all cells, are central to (patho)physiological processes, and hold great potential for clinical use. NTA allows for a rapid and high-throughput characterization of EV preparations for size and concentration. Furthermore, the zeta potential measurement allows to assess particle surface charge, helping determine colloidal stability and predict aggregation behavior during EV analysis. A versatile device with at least a 488 and 640 nm laser is required to provide a wide range of applications corresponding to research performed at LECR and its collaborators. Furthermore, a standalone, user-friendly device is a strong requirement. The instrument will be installed at The Core, UZ Gent Campus, Ghent, Belgium.
