Description
As part of UKRI’s evolving portfolio, we are delivering the Research and Development Missions Accelerator Programme (R&D MAP), a £500m major flagship multi year initiative initially launched mid-2025 with a full launch in April 2026 is designed to align research, development and innovation with the UK Government’s national missions. The programme supports targeted, challenge led projects with clear pathways to real world adoption, bringing together academia, industry and public service partners to accelerate solutions that improve lives, strengthen public services and drive economic growth. Each challenge sets measurable targets and deadlines for impact, ensuring that funded work delivers tangible results. Projects with strong evidence of impact are supported to scale, while those that are not delivering are expected to stop early so resources can be redirected.
