Description
The contract is for a single supplier to provide Project Management in relation to ISO 11 Fumigation Lobby replacement project at The Pirbright Institute, Ash Road, Pirbright, Surrey, GU24 0NF. Existing Arrangements The ISO 11’s fumigation lobby was installed pre-2007 and is now unserviceable as the manufacturer is no longer able to provide support due to obsolescence and inherent building design & operability shortcomings, including its capacity and physical orientation. It was decommissioned in 2017. Technical and operational issues within the ISO11 fumigation lobby are summarised below. Technical issues: • No temperature control which compromised the efficacy and limited the operation of the lobby. • Unserviceable HMI panel and obsolete software and controls lacking any Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support. Operational issues: • Unsuitable for removal of large items such as animal gating (3.0m length x 1.5m height) • Ergonomic issues including the loading area to corridor angled at 90 degrees requiring a tight manoeuvre in loading the lobby.
