Description
This is an award notice for the Development and Resourcing of Provision for Targeted (Early Help) Short Breaks for Children with Disabilities. Shropshire Council commissions a variety of Short Breaks services aimed at supporting children and young people with disabilities up to the age of 18. These services are designed to offer enriching experiences for children while provide parents and carers with a break. Short Breaks encompass a broad spectrum of activities, including after-school programs, weekend events, school holiday engagements, and overnight stays. They provide valuable opportunities for children to develop independence, confidence, and social skills within and outside their families. Following a recent review, parents and families highlighted the importance of a Short Breaks service that offers flexibility, choice, and accessibility. An evolving model needs to be able to adapt to families' changing needs, connect with other services, and facilitate resilience and early intervention where possible.
