Description

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has allocated funding for a kitchen extension at Burnwood Community School. The current kitchen is approximately 92 sqm in size and an extension is required to cater for increased intake. The Council intends to utilise a 2-stage Design and Build contract for this project. As such, the Council will be looking to appoint a contractor to undertake a Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA). The contractor will be required to undertake all design work required to complete RIBA stages up to and including RIBA stage 4, with an approval process at the end of each RIBA stage. The City Council has allocated a total budget of £450,000 for the kitchen extension. This budget is to include all costs including the PCSA fee, any other fees, surveys or direct costs, construction and fit out. The deadline for the completion of the kitchen extension is the end of August 2025, in order that the kitchen is operational for the start of the school year in September 2025. This allows 6 weeks for construction during the school summer holidays, which is the preferred construction period.
