AFD mobilized some FEXTE funds in order to launch a short-term collaboration and initiate bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and France on water resources management and irrigation. With this small grant, AFD proposes to finance a series of knowledge exchanges between French experts and key representatives of the Indonesian MPW’s Directorate General of Water Resources (DGWR), in order to (i) specify the areas of interest for technical cooperation in the areas of (a) Environment Protection and Disaster Mitigation/Adaptation (more specifically: flood risk management) and (b) Food Self Sufficiency, (ii) identify a pipe of projects that AFD could finance (or co-finance) that would enable collaboration in the identified areas of mutual interest for technical collaboration, (iii) get to know French expertise and firms for Indonesian partners.
