Description
The contracting authority, Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) has the intention to acquire a BD FACSDiscover™ S8 Cell Sorter in 2024 on behalf of the Flow cytometry Core Facility (FCF). LUMC has the intention to award the contract to BD Biosciences B.V., Vianen, The Netherlands. LUMC will apply the negotiation procedure without publication of a contract notice. LUMC has established that no other competitors than BD Biosciences are, momentarily, able to meet some of the essential technical demands. The BD FACSDiscover™ S8 Cell Sorter is unique as it is able to visualize each sorted cell based providing structural information on each sorted cell, it can visualize the localization of fluorescent markers and can sort cells based on structural or localization parameters. In addition to its unique capabilities, there are other requirements that may not be unique to this instrument. These include: the ability to sort cells based on more than 40 fluorescent parameters simultaneously. T 1
