De aanleiding van deze aanbesteding is het vervangen van het complete wagenpark van de uitvoering buitendienst van de gemeente Nijmegen. De reden hiervoor is het invoeren van een aantal zero-emissiezones, die per 1 januari 2025 in de gemeente Nijmegen van kracht zijn.
